Libya: Force from Benghazi’s Criminal Investigations Division Moves to Areas Between Ajdabiya and Sirte to Support the LNA

The head of the Information Office Walid Al-Arifi said in a statement to Alwasat that the force was charged by the Minister of the Interior in the Interim Government Ibrahim Bushnaf: “to protect the back of the armed forces, support and respond to any action aimed at destabilizing the security.”

“The force will be deployed in the area extending from Ajdabiya to the east of Sirte and will deal with the force of the law with all those who wish to harm the security of the region and its people and in anticipation of any emergency. The rest will be stationed in Al-Jufra.”

The southern outskirts of the capital Tripoli have seen violent confrontations since April 4th, between the forces of the Government of National Accord and the Libyan National Army after the Marshal Khalifa Haftar launched a military operation to control the city.
