Peoples articulated in organizations and social movements, coming from 14 countries, gathered at the International Meeting Abya Yala Sovereign Abya Yala from the Social Movements, on December 1 and 2, 2021, in Guatemala City, we declare:
The unity and plurinational articulation between peoples and nationalities, is an ethical and political imperative, urgent to confront the capitalist system that invades and plunders our territories, and that forces us to maintain ourselves in processes of anti-capitalist, anti-neoliberal, anti-patriarchal, decolonial and anti-racist resistances in creative and transformative ways.
It is urgent that, at the continental level, from the peoples, social and popular movements, we move from socio-cultural and vindictive struggles and resistances, towards socio-political struggles for the construction of popular power on the road to liberation and popular emancipation.
It is necessary to advance towards the construction of plurinational states, with territorial autonomies for the peoples, overcoming the structures and borders of nation states, with the aim of restoring and rebuilding, from everyday life, the utz’kaslemal, the sumaj kawsay, the sumaqamaña, the ñandereko, the good living and other forms of construction of community life.
Development from capitalist modernity is no longer a horizon of sustainable wellbeing for our peoples, for humanity, nor for Mother Earth. Our horizon should be the Good Living, and towards that goal, promoting the defense of human rights, the defense of the dignity and rights of Mother Earth.
Racism is a constitutive evil of the bicentennial nation-states. Therefore, we assume the decolonial and anti-racial struggle as fundamental pillars of the processes of structural change.
The patriarchal neoliberal system colonizes and dispossesses our territories and bodies as women. In the face of this, we assume the challenge of strengthening ourselves as collective plurinational subjects of rights for our emancipation.
We assume plurinational communication as one of our main tools for the emancipatory struggle of our peoples and nationalities, becoming communicators of the struggles of peoples and the rights of our Mother Earth for our continental liberation.
We assume the commitment to articulate our struggles, dreams and hopes to respond collectively to the threat of racist, patriarchal, colonial and destructive capitalism of Mother Earth.
Finally we salute and embrace the struggles of the peoples who resist the intervention and blockade of U.S. imperialism, the emancipatory struggles of women, the struggles of the peoples who defend their territory against the capitalist extractive model, the struggles of the peoples for structural changes, and the struggle of the peoples against discrimination and racism in any form.
