The Bicentennial military exercises of Angostura 2019, to begin this Sunday, February 10, are a civic-military strategic maneuver that seeks to prepare and allow the elevation of the operational readiness of all levels of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (Fanb), said Admiral in Chief Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, Strategic Operational Commander.
“It is an exercise that on the one hand has the possibility of putting into practice the new strategies designed within the military strategic concept for the integral defense of the nation. It is a reformulation of concepts that allows us high mobility, flexibility, use of special action forces, all special forces of different components, but also has a deep popular character,” said the Admiral in an interview granted to journalist José Vicente Rangel, transmitted by Televen.
Ceballos said that the military component will begin this phase and then conduct exercises at the command level of regions, and then a phase of “transition between training and operational level,” in order to take advantage of the movement of logistical means of weapons system to combat threats.
With this, they hope to achieve a high level of “training, cohesion of all the men and women who make up the Armed Force and their integration into the operation of the equipment,” which will allow them to know the fundamentals of the use of weapons systems, “but also the interaction, the man-machine interpenetration,” he said.
This Sunday the Bicentennial Military Exercises of Angostura 2019 begin.
The Bicentennial Military Exercises of Angostura 2019 will begin this Sunday, February 10, and will last until February 15 throughout the country, in order to put into practice and, at the same time, strengthen the defensive capacity of the territory by the Bolivarian National Armed Force ( FANB ) together with the organized popular power.
The exercises will be developed under two modalities aimed at ensuring the training and cohesion of the Fanb, as well as strengthening its operational readiness.
During the practices, command and control, communications and military planning actions, among others, will be put to the test, in addition to demonstrating the ability to deploy the armed force, as explained this week by the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the FANB, Remigio Ceballos.
Prior to these exercises, in the country were developed from January planning phases, prior preparation, as well as military manoeuvres that were supervised by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and commander in chief of the FANB, Nicolas Maduro.
In statements given to Telesur in recent days, Ceballos indicated that to strengthen Venezuela’s defensive capacity, the FANB has a territorial defensive system composed of eight strategic regions of integral defense, 28 operational zones of integral defense to which the militia is added, “and we are heading towards the 2 million militiamen,” he said.
In this sense, he highlighted the participation in the practices of the Bolivarian National Militia as a complement to the FANB, in fact he pointed out that the areas and sectors of integral defense leveraged in the territory with the militia are active, “and we have the popular groupings and bases for defense, as well as the popular units in the most distant places of the territorial and political organization of the country,” he added.
In the dynamics and logistics of these exercises, the civil component will also include the youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), as well as members and spokespersons of grassroots organizations of popular power, among others.
The exercises coincide with the celebrations for the Bicentennial of the Angostura Congress, in which the country’s first Constitution was created.
