Adán Chávez Frías
We are in the decisive week for the electoral process of May 20, in which we will reaffirm the deeply democratic character of the Bolivarian Revolution. We observe in the final stage of this intense campaign, the undisputed disposition of the Venezuelan people to exercise their right to vote as a tool for the search for solutions in the current conjuncture.
The majority of the population is aware of the importance of the role we play in these elections in which the future of the Homeland, the possibility of economic development during the coming decades and the political stability of the nation will be determined.
However, in recent days the threats of the US and its allies against our democratic system have also intensified. Last Monday, the US Vice President Mike Pence, gave an aggressive speech at the Organization of American States (OAS) where he requested the expulsion of Venezuela from the agency, joint sanctions for our country and the formation of a political and financial lobby to overthrow to President Nicolás Maduro. It is not surprising that the first thing the White House demands is the suspension of the presidential elections on May 20.
And they are afraid of the Venezuelan people. They know that the continuity of the Bolivarian socialist project will be decided at the polls; They know that Venezuela will continue to be a benchmark of resistance and the anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist struggle before the world.
In this context, the international conspiracy of the hemispheric right against Venezuelan democracy will be demonstrated at the meeting of the so-called Lima Group.
That faction of pro-imperialist governments, made up of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Saint Lucia, will try to take action to sabotage the electoral process of May 20 criminalizing the government, the Bolivarian leaders and the Venezuelan State.
This misnamed group should be cataloged as the trumpist cartel of neo-liberal restoration in Latin America. And how can Brazil, Mexico, Peru or Colombia question Venezuelan democracy?
Do you forget that in Colombia, a few days before the presidential election, the UN worries about the increase in the assassination of social leaders? Do they not know that in Mexico more than 80 mayoral candidates for the elections of July 1 have been forced to resign for fear of political assassination and that this Saturday MORENA candidate for mayor of Guanajuato, José Remedios Aguirre was murdered? Are these countries the ones that will dictate to Venezuela on transparency and guarantees in an electoral process?
As officials and advisors of the Trump administration have reiterated, the US does not want a constitutional and democratic solution to the complex scenario that our country is undoubtedly facing.
The White House is still betting on a coup d’état, as the American ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Nikki Haley has said during her speech at the Council of the Americas in Washington that “it is time for Maduro to leave” while republican senator Juan Cruz and Roger Noriega try to incite our military bodies to carry out a coup.
This position of Washington is a dangerous and negative sign for the entire region, because the State Department in its reissue of the Monroe Doctrine, with the CIA as executing agency, tries to implement a new Condor Plan to reimpose by blood and fire, economic neoliberalism.
We are sure that they will not succeed. Our peoples will not retreat and will not surrender the gains obtained during more than a decade of progressive and left governments. We will fight in any scenario but, especially, we will defend our right to peace, sovereignty and democracy.
We can not lower our guard here. The intelligence and popular organization must be attentive in the face of the the call made by the gringo Embassy in Caracas to their fellow citizens to be alert to possible violent events before and after May 20. We will not allow any provocation that could impede or jeopardize next Sunday’s elections.
In that sense I want to make a call in these last days of the campaign to the double armored attack, as Commander Hugo Chávez said. The first step of that strategy is to check and recheck the machinery already deployed: we must guarantee the perfect mobilization for a new perfect victory. Let no one miss voting!
You have to be constant, precise, with analysis, statistics. Nothing can be left to chance. We are also perfecting our method of combat in this decisive battle between the life and prosperity of the Fatherland, or our submission and surrender as a country.
We must in these final days, with the artillery of thought, with revolutionary truth, tilt the balance towards our option looking for the last Chavista vote. Together We will win!
With Chávez Always!
Everyone with Maduro!
Long live the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez!
We denounce that the US and the OAS, implemented a plan to defeat #Venezuela: Before the elections they will carry out violent actions supported by the media and after the elections will try a military invasion with the Armed Forces of neighboring countries. Evo Morales Ayma
We are concerned about the denunciation of Argentine journalist, Stella Calloni, about a coup that pretends to end the government of President Nicolás Maduro. We reject US intentions to impose a multilateral force to militarily intervene Venezuela.
