Nicaragua Prepares Municipal Elections With a Call to Preserve Peace

Managua, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua is ready today for the municipal elections on November with a call to preserve peace and peaceful coexistence in dialogue, alliances and consensus in the country”s all communities.

Deputy Minister Rosario Murillo said this statement after commenting on the preparations for the November 5 elections, to elect mayors, deputy mayors and members of each council in the 153 municipalities of the national territory.

‘This is a special year because we are all preparing for the municipal elections. And these municipal elections, I insist a lot, do not have to generate conflict, we do not have to return to electoral cultures that, thanks God, have been left behind,’ she said.

Murillo stated that the proposals of the Nicaragua Triunfa United Alliance, led by the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) have the strength of credibility.

Everything committed as a Christian, socialist and solidarity project has been fulfilled, she said.

‘We have the strength of credibility, and then, the will and commitment to progress in a mission of service to our people,’ he said.

Two ballots will be used for the mentioned municipal elections and each party or alliance should present at least 80 percent of men and women for the different posts.
